- Wednesday, April 24th -I introduced our new novel, On My Honor, a Newberry Honor book by Marion Bauer. We will be discussing themes of honesty and real life consequences while reading this short novel in class. We read and discussed Chapter 1
- Thursday, April 25th -We discussed the main characters, their personal character traits and their relationship with each other. We read Chapter 2.
- Friday, April 26th- Today is library day and Free Reading Friday. Students will be reading independent reading material and adding to their reading logs.
- Monday, April 29th- We will read Chapter 3 of On My Honor, and continue our discussions in class.
- Tuesday, April 30th- We will be on a Fieldtrip to Seattle.
- Wednesday, May 1st- We will read Chapter 4 of On My Honor. Information about classwork will be added following the class period because we are too far out from that date to be able to know exactly what will be done in class that day for reading response.
- Thursday, May 2nd- We plan to read Chapter 5 of On My Honor.
- Friday, May 3rd- No School.
Writer's Workshop
- Tuesday, April 23rd-Writer's Workshop started up again!
- Monday, April 29th - We will be having a special lesson on story elements and how to incorporate them into personal writing.
Spelling and Wordly Wise
- Wednesday, April 24th- We had a test on lesson 16 in Wordly Wise
- Thursday, April 25th- I introduced lesson 24 spelling, review lesson. Students have a homework handout to complete and they chose 20 words to practice writing 3x each. They were instructed to pick 20 words from the list that give them trouble. Words are to be written in cursive for a handwriting grade. I also introduced lesson 17 of Wordly Wise. We went through section E together in class. We read the passage together and then went through the questions #1-15 together, discussed them and chose the words for them to use in each answer.
- Wednesday, May 1st- Spelling lesson 24 homework is due and we will have a test. Wordly Wise lesson 17 is due and we will have the test.
- Friday, April 26th- As mentioned in Monday's newletter the experimental design, materials/equipment list, and results is due today! Students that turned in only a rough draft copy will need to have the final draft to turn in on Monday. Please save all typed materials so they can be easily reprinted to turn in on May 2nd.
- Thursday, May 2nd- Final due date for Conclusion, Written Report, Logbook, and Display board. Please see the packet I sent home attached to the Monday letter April 22nd. (It was an extra copy of the original)
- Thursday, May 2nd- All of the Science project, display board, report and logbook are due on May 2nd. Oral presentations will begin in class on May 2nd.
