Boys’ science research final projects are due Tuesday, October 14th. Class Presentations will begin on Monday, October, 20th due to ACSI teacher’s conference.
The boys have been divided into research teams for different subject matter concerning volcanoes, earthquakes and plate tectonics. They are doing an excellent job on their visual projects…. Stay tuned to see the outcome of their work with visual information in the weeks to come. I will be posting pictures on my blog.

·         Language Arts and Writing
·         Final Drafts of Writing are due tomorrow, October 7th! Please see my blog if you have any questions concerning these assignments.
Last Monday students were assigned four writing prompts in response to camp. Students have been working over 4/45 minute class periods to complete their writings. These writings will be scored using a six trait rubric. The traits I will be scoring are: word choice, sentence fluency, conventions, organization, voice, and ideas.  Each piece of writing will receive a percentage grade on a 100% scale. You may help your child edit their writing only. Please, no revision… I need to see what your child is capable of completing independently. When editing for conventions such as commas, quotation marks, spelling, etc., please, make sure your child is sitting by your side and learning about editing. Please, do not just edit the paper and give it back to them. Thank you!

·         Reading
We are currently still reading and discussing, Call it Courage. Students are also reading independently for their genre studies.
