What’s Happening in Class?

Memory verse Matthew 7:24-25 ESV version

“Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock.”

·         Spelling and Vocabulary

 Spelling Worksheet lesson 5 and words 3x in cursive will be due on October 22^nd. Wordly Wise lesson 3 exercises A,B,C will be due October 22^nd. There will be a spelling test on lesson 5 on October 22^nd.

·         Science

Boys’ science research final projects are due Thursday, October 23rd. Class Presentations will begin on Friday, October, 24^th.

The boys have been divided into research teams for different subject matter concerning volcanoes, earthquakes and plate tectonics. They are doing an excellent job on their visual projects…. Stay tuned to see the outcome of their work with visual information in the weeks to come. I will be posting pictures on my blog. I am also going to attempt to video these presentations to post online.

·         Language Arts and Writing

This week we will continue with our study in correctly editing grammar. Students will also be working on their own choices in creative writing this week. They need to be brainstorming ideas for writing and coming prepared to write and share their writing during our workshop time.

·         Reading

We are currently still reading and discussing, Call it Courage. We will be reading our last chapter this week. Our next novel study is a realistic fiction. We will be starting Wednesday Wars, by Gary Schmidt on Friday, October 24^th. Students are also reading independently for their genre studies.
