What’s Happening in Class?

Bible: Memory verse quiz will be this Wednesday,
October 9th. The students will write the verse for their quiz.
Our verse is, “And without faith
it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe
that he exists and that he rewards those who diligently seek him.” Hebrews 11:6

Reading: This week we start off in chapter 39 of, The Tale of Despereaux. We should finish our reading and
author study of Despereaux this week. Students will also have independent
reading time this week in the book of their choice. They will be recording
their independent reading in the Reader’s notebook.

Language Arts: This week we will have a study in
Grammar about the parts of speech. We will have some fun review activities for
this study. Each day the students will receive an activity sheet to go along
with the lesson; activity sheets not finished in class will need to be finished
at home. The packet will be due on Friday, October 11th.

Spelling and Vocabulary: This week students are completing Wordly Wise Lesson 3 exercises
A, B and C for homework, as well as, Spelling Lesson 5. This homework will be
due October 9th. This week we will have a Spelling test on lesson 5 only, no
Wordly Wise test this week.

Math: Students will have a math test
early next week!
