Last week we finished up reading Call It Courage. We have all really enjoyed this inspiring Newberry Award winning novel from 1940. Although we won't have time to celebrated every novel we read, we have found that this one just lends itself to a Luau.
Here's what's happening over the next week in class:
- Starting tomorrow students need to bring in any extra materials they may need for their individual project. I have the usual supplies like paper, poster board, glue, yarn, felt etc.
- Students will be working on projects in class on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday this week the 25th-27th.
- Projects are due on Thursday, October 3rd.
- Students will present their project at the Luau on Friday, October 4th 9:45-11:35.
- For the Luau students are allowed and encouraged to bring Luau themed related treats. Treats are not required! :)
- Students are also being encouraged to dress up for our celebration. This is a Polynesian themed event, therefore I have encouraged the students to do a little research before attempting dressing the part and making food. Dress code still applies.
