Sixth grade Language Arts September 6th-7th

We have begun our first novel study of the year! We are reading and discussing Where the Red Fern Grows during class. Today the students are reading chapter 3 silently and I will be taking a quick comprehension assessment after the reading to help me understand each of the students' comprehension levels.

Today I am also introducing the Wordly Wise lesson one. I will be walking the students through this lesson this week to get them accustomed to the workbook and how to complete the homework for the future.
Students will also receive Lesson 1 list and homework for spelling. We will not be using the spelling book this year, rather there will be a weekly handout for homework.
Spelling and Wordly Wise homework is always due on Wednesdays, which is also our testing day for these subjects.
